Technical Assessments at the Kick-off Meeting

The main focus of the first meeting was the design of the Machine Room Simulator, which constitutes the main output of the project in the field of distance vocational and technical education. Based on the discussions during the meeting, several sub-topics related to the simulator were identified. It was decided to structure the game-based design framework around problem-probable-cause-solution scheme case studies with a particular focus on two-stroke diesel engine machines.

It was decided to develop the engine room simulator in a 3D interactive format, giving students the flexibility to move and interact within the simulated environment. The development of the training scenarios will be carried out collaboratively by four educational institutions as well as software and IT partners. Each of these four institutions is expected to develop six to seven scenarios, reaching a total of 24 worksheets. The level of complexity of the scenarios will be adapted to the high school level. The final structure of the simulator and the template of the worksheets will be determined after the meeting at the Bulgarian Naval Academy.
